Position Summary
Manages and directs the organization toward its primary technological objectives, based on long-term product and profitability goals, by performing the below duties. Supports Production and Sales with Product Definition, Design, and Function.
Essential Functions
- Works with product development, sales, and marketing to understand, determine, and meet customer expectations for products and services
- Manages Bills of Materials, New Part & Assembly Setup, Schematics, etc.
- Provides engineering guidance to management in order to establish current and long range objectives, plans, and policies.
- Assists assembly, shop and other internal customers with support, troubleshooting, etc. Ensuring finished product meets the intended design and customer needs.
- Assists External customers with support, product knowledge, troubleshooting services, etc. (In some cases, may require on site support and training and/or production startup support.)
- Provides advice, guidance, direction and authorization to carry out our major plans and procedures.
- Responsible for assisting with department development, including cross training of department employees.
- Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
- Helps identify and document critical information and records as needed.
- Applications Engineering, troubleshooting, mechanical design, hydraulic design and maintenance of the control valve line.
- Assists with UL, FM, and other Certification projects and inspectors as needed.
- Interprets job specifications and provides technical documents for the sales department to quote valves.
- Provides Back Up to other functions in Engineering as needed.

Skills & Abilities
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study: Engineering or Engineering Technology
Experience: 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of ProE and/or Solid Works, Adobe Illustrator and/or Microsoft Visio software; ERP Software (Dynamics or M2M Manufacturing software preferred); Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word word processing software.
Certifications & Licenses: Valid US passport.
Other Requirements: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
