China has the highest installed capacity of coal power plants over any other country. Roughly 70% of the energy consumed in China is obtained from coal, thus making it one of the most coal-reliant countries in the world. Shanwei Coal Power Plant, in the Province of Guangdong, has a total installed capacity of 3,200 MW.
